Who We Are at Legal & Medical

Legal & Medical Investments Ltd is a team of 17 Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), each with at least 10+ years of experience providing specialist financial advice and wealth management services to doctors and dentists.

Richard started out as a financial adviser in 1998 for Medical Sickness Society and became an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) when he joined Legal & Medical in 2002.

He holds the Mortgage Advice Qualification (MAQ) and the CII's CF2 (Specialist Investment) qualification. He is also continuing to study for financial exams to complete his Diploma in Financial Services.

Outside of work, being a father of two boys and coach to a junior football team has spurred Richard on to study for a Level 1 coaching badge. He also likes to keep fit, cycling, skiing, running and playing in a 5-a-side football team.

Max has been a financial adviser for 12 years, mainly specialising in the medical profession. He holds the Diploma in Financial Planning with a focus on pensions.

Max lives in the Midlands with his wife and two children and has a wide variety of interests, most of them sports based. He is a qualified sky diver and scuba diver, enjoys rugby, has had a spell in the military and can be seen on two wheels whenever he gets the opportunity.

Marc has been with Legal & Medical since the company started in 1998.

A holder of the Mortgage Advice Qualification (MAQ) and Financial Planning Certificate (FPC) qualifications, he has worked in financial services for over 30 years during which time he has been a financial expert for the BBC and presented TV programmes for BBC1 (Homes Under the Hammer).

In his spare time, Marc is a musician, writer and occasional cyclist. He is married to Sarah and has three children.

Mireille has been a financial adviser to doctors and dentists for 14 years. She worked at Medical Sickness Society before joining Legal & Medical in 2005 where she deals primarily with retirement, investments and inheritance planning.

Mireille holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and hopes to be one of the few to have her Chartered Financial Planning status by 2013.

Mireille is married with two young boys. She enjoys spending time with her two children, horse riding, walking and, more recently, skiing.

Owen began his career as a financial adviser in 1996 when he joined Medical Sickness Society. In 2003, he became an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) and joined Legal & Medical as an equity partner.

Owen continues to study for financial exams to keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and ensure his expert financial advice is pertinent to his clients' needs.

Owen has three young children and finds that his 'spare' time no longer exists juggling the ever increasing number of after school clubs with keeping fit playing squash.

Andy joined Legal & Medical in October 2005 after working at Medical Sickness Society for 6 years. Previous to this, he worked for Lloyds in London for almost 10 years.

In his spare time, Andy enjoys playing golf, watching West Ham and DJ'ing at his local bars at the weekend. He also spends much of his time providing a taxi service to his two girls!

Tim graduated in 1982 and spent 7 years teaching before joining Medical Sickness Society in 1988. He joined Legal & Medical in 1999 and is based in the Somerset and Devon area.

Tim enjoys most sports, socialising and walking on Exmoor with his family and dog.

Christine has a strong history of working with the medical profession having worked for the Royal College of Nursing Membership Services and the British Medical Association before joining Legal & Medical in 2006.

Christine lives with her partner, daughter, two dogs, eight chickens and a cockerel! She enjoys getting out in the garden and jetting off to warmer climates when she can.

Jos has worked in the financial services industry since 1991. She became an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) in 1996 and joined Legal & Medical in 2002.

In her spare time, Jos enjoys long walks with her dog, going to the cinema with friends and being a busy working Mum to her two young boys.

Kirsty has been a financial adviser for over 10 years, 8 years of which have been with Legal & Medical. She continues to study for financial exams to ensure her knowledge is up-to-date and her expert financial advice is pertinent to her clients' needs.

Outside of work, Kirsty loves being with her two little girls and keeping fit by running, taking long dog walks, swimming and horse riding.

Martin has worked in the financial services industry for almost 20 years, including for two prominent Independent Financial Advisory (IFA) firms. He joined Legal & Medical in 2010 and continues to study for financial exams to keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments.

Martin lives with his wife, daughter and 2 basset hounds. He is heavily involved in his local community as the Friends Association Chairperson at his daughter's school and, juggles this with his love of Cheltenham Town Football Club where he plays a prominent role in the Corporate Promotion of the club on match days.

Andrew has been in the financial services industry for 28 years, with the last 11 years specialising in the medical and dental industry.

Andrew lives in the Vale of Glamorgan with his wife and daughter. A keen sports fan and social skier, he enjoys the rural life but is pleased to serve his clients wherever their career takes them in the UK.

Laurence, founder of Legal & Medical, has been in the financial advisory field for over 20 years.

Malcolm has over 17 years experience working in the financial services industry. Before joining Legal & Medical in 2005, he worked as a financial adviser for Medical Insurance Agency and Medical Sickness Society.

As a G60 Pension Specialist, one of Malcolm's many fields of expertise is in pension planning. He holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and is currently just one exam away from Chartered status.

On a personal level, Malcolm's main passions in life are being a Dad to his two young girls, rugby (which can be challenging for a Scot living in Wales!) and holidaying in France, particularly for the wine and seafood.

Raj joined the financial services industry in 1995, working as a financial adviser for Medical Sickness Society. In 2003, he set up as an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) and joined Legal & Medical where he has since become a shareholder. He holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and aims to attain Chartered status by 2012.

Originally from Nottingham, Raj has lived in Cardiff for the last 20 years with his wife and 2 daughters aged 11 and 6. He enjoys running, playing tennis, skiing and watching most sports, mainly rugby and football.

Mike has extensive experience working in the financial industry. Before joining Legal & Medical in 2005, he worked for Liverpool Victoria, Barclays and Medical Sickness Society.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys the outdoor life and spending time cycling, playing tennis and skiing when he can.

Ranjit has worked in the financial industry for over 10 years for companies including AXA, Lloyds TSB and Wesleyan. He has 8 years experience as a financial adviser, advising dental and medical professionals for 7 of these years.
